I have such happy memories of my time as a pupil at West Walker; fun trips and fabulous teachers who inspired me to try hard and do well. I loved Literacy and Art. I could usually be found on the yard performing Spice Girls songs with my friends.
I moved up to Walker Technology College where I did GCSEs and A Levels, then decided to train as a Dental Nurse. I worked at Newcastle Dental Hospital for two years, on the Oral Surgery Department, before I moved to a private Dental Practice and qualified as a Dental Sedation Nurse. After spending a further two years in Norfolk and Sheffield, I was ready to return home and embark on a new challenge.
I had always had an interest in teaching finally decided to take the plunge! I did a Primary Education BA (hons) at Sunderland University, during which time I got married and had my son, Oscar. I received a First Class Honours degree and began looking for a job. I worked briefly in Gateshead before I heard about a job being advertised in my beloved West Walker Primary School. I applied and here I am now. Over the moon to be back!
